10th Annual Artscape Juried Art Show

CALL FOR ARTISTS

Our annual juried art show, Artscape, is celebrating it’s 10th year this fall! We’re making it bigger and better than ever, so be sure to mark your calendars for the opening reception on November 30th, 2018 from 5 to 7:30pm. Prizes will be awarded at this time, and voting for the people’s choice award will begin! Beverages and hors d'oeuvre will be provided. The reception is free and open to the public!

Please join us for the 10th annual New Ulm ArtScape Juried Art Show!!!

Artwork: Up to 3 submissions per artist, $5 per submission for student category grades 7 - 12; $10 per submission for adult category/$5 per submission rate for adult members!

Submission Drop off: Saturday, November 24 from 11 AM – 3 PM, Monday November 26 from 10 AM to 8 PM and Tuesday November 27 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Accepted works posting: By Wednesday November 28 at 9 PM at www.thegrandnewulm.com

Declined works pick-up: Thursday November 29 from 10 AM – 4 PM and Friday November 30 from 10 AM to 5 PM 

Exhibited works pick-up: (after the show has closed) Friday, December 28 from 4 PM to 8 PM, Monday, December 31 from 8 AM – 2 PM and Wednesday, January 2 from 10 AM to 4 PM

An opening reception will be held November 30th from 5-7:30 PM.  Prizes will be awarded at 6:00 PM, and voting for People’s Choice will begin. The reception is open to the public at The Grand Center for Arts and Culture, Second Floor.

In honor of our 10th anniversary, we’ve increased the number of awards and prize amounts.

ADULTS: 
1st = $500,
2nd = $300
3rd = $150
Honorable mentions = $50
People’s Choice = $150

STUDENTS:
1st = $150
2nd = $75
Honorable Mentions = $25

ArtScape Juried Art Show Regulations and Specifications 

  • This exhibition includes two different categories and will be juried separately as such; student (grades 7-12) and adult. 

  • The entry form must be completed in its entirety before or at time of drop-off.  Please, keep your receipt, as it must be presented at pick-up.

  • Artwork must be dropped off, in person, at The Grand Center for Arts and Culture, 210 N Minnesota St., New Ulm, MN 56073. 

  • Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork.  2D and 3D work will be accepted for consideration.  No installation pieces or artwork created by more than one person will be accepted.  Artwork must be an original work completed within the last 5 years.  Artwork submitted in the adult category must not have been executed under the supervision of an instructor of any kind. No work previously exhibited in any Grand Center for Arts and Culture show may be submitted again; these works will NOT be accepted. Works accepted into the show may not be withdrawn, for any reason, prior to the close of the show.

  • All works submitted must be “exhibition ready”.  All works must be structurally and visually complete for presentation. 2D works must have weight- appropriate hangers attached prior to submission.

  • A qualified juror will be selected to curate the show and to designate awards.  The number of pieces accepted and the criteria used to make the selections will be determined by the juror in the interest of creating a cohesive show. 

  • Information regarding which pieces were selected for the show will be posted on www.thegrandnewulm.com following the jurying process. Works not selected WILL NOT be disclosed. If the title of a piece does not appear on the list, that means it was not selected for exhibition and must be picked up on the “declined works pick-up” date.

  • Works not selected for exhibition must be picked up at the times designated prior to the show.  Works selected for the exhibition must be picked up at the times designated after the show or they will become the property of The Grand Center for Arts and Culture.

  • You may choose to offer your work for sale.  The Grand Center for Arts and Culture will receive a 30% commission for each piece sold during the exhibition.  Please price your work accordingly.
