The Grand Summer FUNdraiser / by Brittany Mathiowetz

On Sunday, June 10th, we held our annual summer fundraiser at The Grand. This is always a good time with live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, auctions, and activities for the kids. We had beautiful weather all day long while lovers of the arts came together to help support your local arts center!

Music

Five bands shared their talents throughout the day: Gravelin & Kildahl, Hootenanny Annies, City Mouse, The Futons, and The Porchlights rounded out the lineup. We even had a special performance appropriately named "The Porchlights Plus a Futon" in which members of The Futons joined The Porchlights for a couple songs. All of the incredibly talented musicians put on truly amazing performances!

Kids Activities

In the spirit of summertime fun, we brought out the water guns and spray bottles, filled them with paint, and let the kids create their own works of art with them! This was a big hit with the little ones, and several adults too :) We even created a beautiful backdrop to keep here at The Grand!

Live + Silent Auction

Special thanks to our auctioneer John Dietz!

The live and silent auctions were also huge successes. We had so many excellent donations for attendees to bid on! Everything from original artwork to gift certificates to a private musical performances were up for bids!

Food + Drink (and WINE!)

Lola's at The Grand provided a delicious spread of pulled pork sandwiches and yummy sides, and Johnson Brothers and New Ulm Liquor Mart provided the drinks and bottles for the wine pull.

THANK YOU!

A gorgeous sunset was the perfect way to end the day.

We are eternally grateful for all who donated their time, talents, services, and products to make this year's Summer FUNdraiser such a huge success! It's one of my favorite events of the year and for good reason. Spectacular food, amazing music, and fun activities....what more could you ask for on a gorgeous summer day?
