Tonight's concert will be in several parts: Swedish Nyckelharpa music by Paul Allman, followed by Sharon Grandinette on vocals and guitar playing folk and soul music, accompanied by Paul and Kit Kildahl on guitar and vocals.
Paul is one of the only people in the United States to play the Swedish Nyckelharpa, the National instrument of Sweden. He has a website devoted to the instrument and his professional work:
http://fivecent-harpa.com/ Paul lived and studied in Sweden and learned to play from expert musicians there.
Sharon Grandinette started to sing in elementary school and began playing guitar at age 9. She sang in school choirs/acapella groups and played solo gigs in coffee houses in college. Her songs are folky and soulful and she really wants to be Bonnie Raitt when she grows up! Besides being a musician and singer, Sharon Grandinette is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist/Trainer and an internationally recognized consultant who focuses her work on school reintegration for children with acquired brain injury and provides advocacy to families.
