Amy Zents

Amalia (Amy) Zents a recording artist, a singer, a song-writer, a radio DJ at KNUJ Radio in New Ulm, and founder/music instructor at Zents Music Studio in New Ulm, MN. She is also a full member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Education K-12. Amy is a senior broadcast media specialist (On-air talent) in New Ulm, at KNUJ AM 860 Radio where she fills in for full-time announcers and has her own Polka show on Sunday afternoons called the KNUJ Sunday Polka Parade.

Abigal Burr

Abby holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Winona State University. She currently resides in New Ulm and is employed by Lifeworks Services, Inc. in Mankato, where she serves and supports people with disabilities. Abby is presently teaching piano to 11 students at The Grand.

Warren Backer has over 30 years of experience playing and teaching guitar. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Martin Luther College (New Ulm, MN), and a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas. He studied and performed with Minneapolis jazz guitarist Paul Renz for over ten years. Warren also holds a Professional Certificate in Jazz Guitar from Berklee School of Music (Boston, MA). He organizes and leads three contemporary worship bands at his home church. Warren currently teaches in Burnsville and performs solo, in worship bands, and with 651 Jazz of Rosemount, MN.

Warren was a guitar instructor at Brown’s Music in New Ulm, MN during his high school and college years. As an elementary school teacher, he gained techniques in music education in grades 1-8. Through his studies and experience, Warren has acquired the skills to teach any music style in which a student is interested. He focuses on letting students play the songs they want to learn and keeping them engaged and challenged in lessons.

When students want to learn more than simply their favorite songs, Warren will lead them to take their playing to the next level by exploring music theory, note reading, chord construction, and improvisation. He also teaches worship guitar and worship band ensembles.

Whether a beginner or more experienced player, Warren will find ways to get the best out of you and get you to your musical goals in no time, having fun along the way!
