About the instructor:

Henry Parker, a native of Mannheim, Germany, grew up under the tutelage of two sets of grandparents who were avid gardeners. The program has grown over the years reaching over 65 residents each season, spawned training programs for other facilities, drawn thirty plus Master Gardeners to help facilitate the program, and been a model for community involvement. The program has been recognized by the Chicago Botanical Gardens, Illinois Extension, and the National Horticultural Therapy Association.
